I met Javed in 2020 selling at the market opposite each. I remembered going up to him and saying, " I knew you from past life." He with a genuine big smile on his face.
Over the years, Javed and I developed a close friendship marked by shared experiences, mutal understanding and a deep connection. He was actually more connected to my boyfriend where he was a teacher to him. Whenever Javed stayed the night, I would listened to their conversations. He would explained the vital role these insects play in pollination, the health of ecosystems, the importance of protecting them. Whenever he wore the beekeeping suit on, gloves and a veil protecting his face, he handle a beehive with expertise, demonstrating how to check for honey combs, assess the colony's health and ensure the queen bee is thriving. His voice was always calm yet enthusiastic conveying a deep respect for bees and a passion for educating others about these fascinating creatures.
One funny joke: A night he slept over because of a vehicle problem. On a mattress on the ground with the covers over his head . I passing by stopped and in my trini slang, " Eh boy you crawl up like a lil macajuel in the ground dey." The laugh echoed throughout the house.
If I have to write about Javed it might be never ending although I only knew him for a short period of five years.
Remembering a great soul who passed away is a moment of reflection, honour and respect. He was a loyal friend who stands by you. Supportative: a friend who encourages and help you achieve your goals. Trustworthy, compassionate ,caring, optimistic, amiable, adventurous and the best person to talk to.
He left a legacy which will continue to inspire and guide me thru my daily living on this earth.
